Job description
A nonprofit organization that focuses on human essentials to build community capacity for long-term change is seeking a Bookkeeper in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate should be compassionate, mission-oriented, and have a passion for community building. The Bookkeeper will manage AP and payroll along with other accounting duties. This position offers growth opportunities and a chance to help others.
Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Conduct monthly reports for each department
- Manage payroll and add restaurant tip calculations
- Record business transactions for contributions
- Communicate with departments regarding budgets
- Drop cash off at the bank
- Create manual checks
- Work with an outside accounting firm
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping/AP/AR
- Transactional experience in AP and AR
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience with an accounting/ERP system
- Understanding of recording transactions
- Strong communication skills, compassionate and empathic
- Grant or fund accounting is a PLUS
- Restaurant, transaction or non-profit experience a PLUS
