Elaine’s is a full-service restaurant and bar serving modern Mediterranean cuisine. Located within sight of the Potomac in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria’s Historic District. Elaine’s brings Egyptian Alexandrian dishes to Old Town. Alexandrian cuisine is an amalgamation of Greek, Italian, Lebanese and French cuisines with a flare. Elaine’s old-world charm and ambience are elevated with our modern vibrant cuisine.

Elaine’s is hiring prep cooks, line cooks and dishwashers.

Back of the house is responsible for cooking and all duties related to food production. Elaine’s back of the house staff must adhere to all food safety laws and policies put in by management. Daily and nightly cleaning and prep duties must be performed in addition to cooking all orders. Back of the house staff must be fast paced and work in stressful environments.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in doing dishes as needed
• Assist in Prep of food
• Taking out the trash, cleaning equipment
• Kitchen and dry goods organization
• Cleaning prep area and kitchen
• Making basic drinks and help with everyday preparation
• Cleaning and clearing the kitchen area
• Cooking
• washing dishes when needed
• Wholesale packaging
• Cooking and Preparing Cafe Menu items
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Washing Dishes and Mopping Floor
• After hours cleanup

Requirements:

• Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
• Proven work experience in a back of house role
• Knife skills preferred
• High School diploma preferred
• Great multi-tasking skills
