Billing and Collections Specialist

Tides of Mind Counseling realizes that the strength of our practice is our exceptional staff. We are currently looking for a Billing and Collections Specialist (Full Time) to support the providers and assist with office management. We are looking for someone who is friendly, builds great rapport with clients, is organized, can multi-task, and has experience in a medical/counseling setting. This is an on-site position at one of our locations in Southington and or Norwich, CT.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00/hr

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or higher
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• Knowledge of professional administrative procedures
• Strong computer and technology skills are required
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Beneficial Skills & Experience:

• Process all client session payments at Time of Service (TOS)
• Print receipts, ledgers, and mail/email to clients as needed
• Apply for client credits, as needed
• Run daily prep, reconciliation, and schedule reports
• Collection of past due amounts
• Client chart maintenance to ensure information is accurate and up to date
• Ensure the client’s insurance card is loaded into EHR
• Verify client benefits and eligibility
• Informs clients of financial responsibility
