Bilingual HR Generalist

Hunter Trim & Cabinets, Inc. is a family-owned custom cabinet shop in North Fort Worth. We provide cabinetry services to custom home builders, contractors, and homeowners throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We are known for our quality workmanship/craftsmanship and customer service.

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist. This person will be responsible for a variety of HR duties as needed to include, but not limited to staffing, employee relations, training and development, compensation, performance management, benefits, and organizational health/culture. Prior experience in manufacturing environment highly preferred but not required. The ideal candidate would be able to speak and write both English and Spanish. Reports directly to CEO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out all responsibilities in support of the following functional areas; onboarding, team member engagement, employee relations, benefits support and communications and administrative compliance.
  • Acts as liaison between employees, management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.

Recruiting, Hiring, Onboarding, & Training

  • Drive recruitment activities including job post, source, recruit, interview, background check and facilitate the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions.
  • Collaborate with managers to understand skills and competences required for positions.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and support new team member training programs.
  • Develop and maintain enhanced onboarding process for new employees.
  • Administer benefits and support enrollment of employees into appropriate benefit programs; educate employees about their benefits and coordinate open enrollment periods; research and resolve employee benefit problems and questions.

Employee Relations, Engagement & Culture

  • Drive and actively engage HTC culture through positive interactions with the workforce including a presence on the production/shop floor, incorporating HTC values in employee training and onboarding.
  • Works closely with management and employees to maintain a high level of employee engagement, increase productivity and maximize employee retention.
  • Plan employee engagement events to drive positive morale.
  • Develop systematic process for employee engagement feedback, including surveys.
  • Support safety through effective policies and training programs.

Performance, Policies, Compliance

  • Serve as an advisor to management for performance management regarding competencies, employee performance, company policy and legal compliance.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR and services performed.
  • Assists in creation and evaluation of reports, metrics, and results of employee related areas.
  • Process, verify and maintain documentation relating to human resources and company benefits, to include staffing, training, benefit elections, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct employee relation investigations.
  • Stays abreast of current laws and regulatory information to maintain and ensure compliance.
  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions including change of status forms, termination requests, and performance related documents.
  • Exhibits technical and operational proficiency in the primary duties of the job.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of HR laws, policies, and procedures with a basic understanding of legal compliance requirements.
  • Experience working for a small company.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • SHRM certification preferred, but not required.
