Myticas's direct client is currently seeking a MySQL Database Administrator for a 100% remote contract position.
Title: MySQL Database Administrator
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 9+ months contract (Potential to become FTE)
Job Description:
The MySQL Database Administrator is a critical role, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Multiple MySQL databases.
As a MySQL DBA, responsibilities will include:
- Installing, configuring and upgrading the MySQL database software and related tools.
- Monitoring database and server performance to ensure KPIs and SLAs are being met.
- Managing and monitoring security and access controls to the database.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to the database such as data corruption, replication issues, performance bottlenecks and security breaches.
- Managing and monitoring database backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborating with development and architect teams to design and implement new database structures, management, or automation capabilities.
- Work closely with the App Ops and Architect teams to provide support for any ongoing projects/releases.
- Participation in an On-Call rotation, and timely response to any critical incidents.
- Chaos Test Design and execution.
- Documentation creation/tuning and common process training (failover operations, restoration activities, Standard operating procedures, etc.).
Requirement:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Cloud-based MySQL implementations (PaaS/IaaS, preferably both)
- 1 to 2 years of experience with Azure
- 7 years in MySQL (any version/any os)
- 2+ years in MySQL 8.0
- 4 years in MySQL on Windows
- 1 to 2 years with ProxySQL
