Benefits Specialist

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs including medical, dental, vision, supplemental insurance, FMLA, and 401(k) plan. This is an on-site position.

The Job:

  • Administer all benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance
  • Ensure employee benefits compliance and confidentially for any federal, state, and local laws
  • Administer and track FMLA, LOA, and ADA in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Complete audit and reconciliations of monthly billing premiums for all group insurance policies
  • Preparation of 1095's and related filings
  • Complete weekly upload of 401(k) file
  • Process enrollments, changes, and termination of benefits
  • Assist with the coordination of open enrollment
  • Communicate with employees, payroll department, and external partners on current policies or helping to resolving any administrative problems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of benefits experience
  • Knowledge of employee benefits compliance and multi-state employment law and regulations including COBRA and HIPPA knowledge
  • Experience with self-funded plans preferred, but not required
  • Unwavering integrity and confidentially with employee and company information
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
