Are you an experienced Behavioral Health Care Manager looking for an opportunity to work in community health?

Appalachian Mountain Community Health Centers ("AMCHC"), a Federally Qualified Health Center network based in beautiful Asheville, NC, with clinics in Asheville, Leicester, Murphy, Sylva, and Robbinsville, NC, is seeking to hire a Behavioral Health Care Manager to join our exceptional clinical team in delivering quality-focused primary care and behavioral health services at our Leicester Location in Asheville, NC.

Our Behavioral Health Care Managers serve alongside a multidisciplinary team working together with the patient on patient specific behavioral health and physical health goals. The purpose of the role is to support patients in improving overall physical health, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life. The role of the Behavioral Health Care Manager is to leverage limited resources for individual patients in order to maximize access to care. The Behavioral Health Care Manager will utilize patient specific therapeutic behavioral interventions while coordinating primary care and psychiatry resources to address both physical and emotional health. The Behavioral Health Care Manager will identify a panel of patients with a health history that includes Substance Use Disorders, Mental Health Diagnoses, and requires additional health related support.

Qualifications include:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Clinical Licensure, including LCSW, LCMHC, LCSW-A, and LCMHC-A
  • Strong commitment to practicing in a community health setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking skills, the ability to handle stressful situations and the capacity to function independently.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, staff, community resources, patients and the public.
  • Ability to organize work, delegate and achieve goals and objectives
  • 1+ years’ experience, post-graduate education, in a Clinical Setting
  • High degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve AMCHC's mission.
