Job Summary:
Behavior Technicians provide one-to-one ABA therapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum
Disorders, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, and other developmental disabilities.
Behavior Technicians will provide approximately 10-30 direct service hours in the individual's
home, natural settings, and the community to facilitate independence and inclusion into the
least restrictive environment.


Clinical Skills:
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate skills in applied behavior analysis, relationship
building concepts and a solid understanding of typical development as well as other
related interventions used to support individuals with developmental disabilities and
their families.
  • Exhibits skills required to accept and implement feedback from supervisors; seeks out
supervisors for feedback
  • Capable of problem solving independently and creatively implementing treatment
targets
  • Demonstrates cultural humility and the ability to develop trusting, collaborative
relationships with diverse individuals, families, and caregivers
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Under general supervision of the Case Supervisor and BCBA, provide tele-health,
in-home/community-based intervention activities for individuals diagnosed with autism
spectrum disorder, Down Syndrome, intellectual disability, and other developmental
disabilities.
  • Assist in developing individualized goals and plans in conjunction with the Case
Supervisor and BCBA on the team per Treatment Session Policy.
  • Travel to multiple work sites to provide services; reliable transportation needed (proof of
valid California Driver's License, current auto insurance identification card, and
acceptable driving record per NIAC standards is required) as outlined in company
Transportation Policy.
  • Operate a tablet and multiple applications for meetings, tele-health sessions with
clients, data collection, and practice management duties (e.g. converting sessions)
  • Responsible for meeting billable time and providing efficient and effective service in all
areas of performance, collect data on each goal during a session and submit at the end
of each session, complete Session Notes and collect signatures at the end of each
session as outlined in company Treatment Session Responsibilities.
  • Participate actively in reflective practice sessions
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with co-workers, clinical team and
families to maintain close collaboration regarding treatment programs.
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse
population
  • Consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Practice exercise HIPAA compliant confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work
environment
  • Attend all staff meetings so as to appropriately interpret and implement policies,
procedures, and regulations per Treatment Session Policy
  • Respond to all email correspondence within company (as appropriate)
  • Work may be stressful and require quick problem analysis and decision making
  • Remain calm, focused and client-oriented during stressful events
  • Utilize iPad, computer, telephone, and copy machine per company Device Agreement
  • Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy

  • Adhere to all disciplinary practices, including utilizing proper requests for time off, as
outlined in company Disciplinary Protocol.
Training/Experience Requirements:
  • At least two years college at an accredited college or university with a concentration in
early childhood education, nursing, social work, psychology, or related field preferred
  • At least 6 months of related professional experience working with individuals with
autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities in a
multi-disciplinary team setting
  • Knowledgeable in leading behavioral and developmental methodologies found to
benefit children with autism spectrum disorders, including, but not limited to, including
Applied Behavior Analysis ("ABA"), PEAK, Essential to Living ("EFL"), VB-MAPP,
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ("ACT"), Early Start Denver Model ("ESDM"),
Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-Handicapped Children
("TEACCH"), Picture Exchange Communication System ("PECS"), and Pivotal Response
Training ("PRT").
  • Attend all on-going training regarding applied behavior analysis intervention to stay
current in the field
  • Obtain criminal record clearance through Department of Justice
  • Pass a TB test
  • Obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Possess or Obtain current CPR certificate and maintain Personal Protection Equipment as
needed as outlined in the company Safety Protocol Agreement.
  • Obtain and maintain all Registered Behavior Technician or Board Certified Autism

Technician certification requirements as outlined in the company Certification
Maintenance Agreement.
Physical Requirements (Approximate Percent per 7.5-hour Workday):
Must be able to provide proof of a physical/health examination by an authorized party (Doctor
of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician
Assistant (PA), or a Licensed Chiropractor) to perform the health examination, indicating that
they are physically capable of performing Services and prior to treating all MBS clients.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, and
interact with individuals of various ages (50%).
  • Frequent speaking and listening (50%) to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and
on the phone.
  • Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting, and using upper and lower limbs to drive car to
and from home visits and meetings (20%).
  • Occasional sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the
computer (15%).
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials used in home visits (10%).
