A Battery Validation Manager ensures that established quality standards are met with respect to the safety of cells and modules. The main role of the Battery Validation Manager is to verify and assure product safety in accordance with quality standards that are determined either by international standards or by a specific customer requirements. Battery Validation Manager must verify necessary test requirements and provide issue resolution for all discovered safety issues The Battery Validation Manager must work closely with various departments of the company to thoroughly verify the necessary tests and support effective problem solving. When defects are found lead containment, analysis, and resolution to prevent defect propagation. Battery Validation Manager is also responsible for documentation, communication and read across all issue’s corrective actions The goal of the safety test to increase customer satisfaction and manufacturing yield. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct training for Safety Test Inspectors
  • To ensure all Safety Test Inspectors complete all assigned tasks in timely and efficient manner
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis of all environmental in-process and material issues which may impact safety testing and implement follow-up corrective measures to resolve identified safety issues
  • Review and update product specifications, inspection standards, manuals, and lesson learned activities
  • Conduct safety testing for mass production 4M product changes and any & all urgent customer safety testing requirements
  • Develop, implement, and monitor efficacy of corrective and preventive actions
  • Prepare updates and reports of safety customer outcome and communicate to cross functional team including production, development and purchasing
  • Maintain quality inspection & testing equipment to ensure reliability of testing
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to clarify business and technical requirements for safety testing

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. (Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered with technical industry experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial automation and controls experience with strong foundation in project management
  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
  • Ability to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS CONT

  • Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
  • Ability to coach / mentor / develop Safety Test Inspectors
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime as required

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
  • Shainin Red X / Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Experience with quality certification and system such as ISO9001 / IATF16949 is required
  • Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation
  • Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applications
  • Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs
  • ASQ Certification in Quality and Reliability.
