Currently seeking a dynamic Banquet Set-up person to join the best Banquet team on Marco Island!

POSITION PURPOSE:

To manually set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms in accordance with Hilton's high standards of quality.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:

Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest and banquet event order. This includes

considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables,

chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage area to meeting rooms.

Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to storage closet all

materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc. so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.

Maintain established cleaning schedule of equipment, meeting rooms, ballrooms, carpets, etc.

Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.

Move conference materials for guests to meeting rooms upon request.

SUPPORTIVEFUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

OTHER:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel including holidays and weekends.

All employees are required to comply fully with the rules and standards set forth by Hilton Marco Island Beach Resort & Spa, Olshan Properties and Hilton Hotels Corporation.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Ability to learn the various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms. For example: different table types (round, schoolroom, etc.,).

Ability to speak and understand basic English in order to respond to requests.

Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 80 lbs. through a crowded room. This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down.

Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs.

Able to concentrate in a high volume, high pressure area.

Able to work under conditions that may be hot, wet, and noisy.

Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.

Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals.

Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all equipment, i.e., screwdriver, cart, glass racks, pens, pads of paper, etc.

Able to use stairs and ladders.

Able to maintain a positive attitude.

Able to work well with others.

Able to work with little or no supervision.

Able to hear audible alarm signals that meet standards NFP codes with sound decibels -10-30 range.

Able to reach up to five (5) feet high area to place equipment or to clean.

Able to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead.
