Job Purpose

• Baker's Assistants are involved in all baking processes at Taylor's Bakery. These individuals have the foundational skills necessary to use multiple pieces of equipment combined with the appropriate hand skills to work on the bench. Bakers Assistants are encouraged to apprentice and grow into a Bakers position.

  Duties and Responsibilities

  Baker's Assistants work in a team environment to provide direct support to the full time bakers. These employees will:
• Scaling and mix ingredients
• Learning the basics of baking
• Working with different dough make-ups
• Operating production equipment
• Helping with clean up

  Qualifications

  Qualifications include, but not limited to:
• Demonstrating in eagerness to work with a wide variety of bakery products
• Working in a fast paced, high production environment
• Above average math skills
• Baking experience preferred
• Serve Safe Certification preferred

  Working Conditions

  Bakers Assistants must be able to tolerate very cold and very hot temperatures. Baker's Assistants are required to work 40 hours per week. The job is comprised of five 8 hour shifts. This shift generally begins in the early morning hours. Saturday work is required. Holidays can affect the set schedule as more preparation is needed for major holidays and/or events.

  Physical Requirements

  This job can be physically demanding where employees are required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, do repetitive tasks and consistently maintain a positive attitude. Baker's Assistants also work in an area around commercial equipment which requires appropriate safety training.
