Position Summary/Objective of Job:

The Baker 2 contributes to production by producing quality inclusions, variegates and moms for our ice cream. This is achieved by following recipes determined by the daily production schedule. Baker 2 follows production protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while handling ingredients and equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Starts every shift with instruction from Bake Supervisor and Baker 3 on how to strategize to meet production goals.

• Follow recipe specifications, using basic math skills to regularly weigh and bake accurately.

• Follow GMPs while handling ingredients and equipment.

• Troubleshoot and issues that come up and check in with Baker 3 if escalation is needed.

• Fill out and complete daily ingredient tracking sheets and work orders.

• Helps complete the End of Day Checklist.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Help in other departments when needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in baking and/or pastry and/or candy-making is necessary.

Knowledge and Critical Skills:

• Fluency in English: reading, writing, speaking is required.

• Spanish speaking as a second-language is preferred.

• Possess general knowledge of pastry skills and candy making.

• Comfortable working on a team in a manufacturing facility with other teams.

• Clear and concise communication skills.

• Able to work in a fast paced production environment.

• Ensure a high standard of service, efficiency, sanitation, and safety.

• Good basic math skills.

• In-depth knowledge of how to use: hobart mixers, tilt braisers, stoves, ovens, fryer, fire kettle, Urschel, immersion blender, sheeter, grinder, food processor, torches, all other common baking utensils.
