Assisting Hands® Home Care in Placentia, CA is seeking a Compassionate Caregiver with AUTISM Experience to start in the Garden Grove, CA area.

Education: High School Diploma/GED required.

Qualifications: At least 3 years experience in the home care or long-term care setting preferred with autism clients. Must be listed on the Home Care Aide Registry indicating a completed criminal background check process administered by the California Department of Social Services. Ability to demonstrate that you are free of active tuberculosis and CPR certified. Prior to employment, entry-level training will be completed, and this will be provided by Assisting Hands® Home Care.

Reports to: Home Care Administrator

Primary Duties:

• Responsible for the overall non-medical care for specifically assigned clients.
• Performance of all personal care activities contained in a written Plan of Care which may include assisting the client with personal hygiene, ambulation and exercise, eating, dressing, shaving, physical transfer, and other custodial duties as assigned.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within client’s residence. Duties may include light cleaning and straightening of the bathroom, straightening the sleeping and living areas, washing client's dishes or laundry, and other tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety for the client.
• Providing nutritional support as needed.
• Reporting changes in the client’s condition.
• Demonstrates competence executing the duties outlined in each individual client care plan.
• Document caregiving services using Assisting Hands® Home Care documentation and reporting system.
• Fulfill Caregiver Training Manual requirements.
• Abides by the agency’s infection control policies, including proper hand washing techniques consistent with CDC Guidelines.
• Abides by all policies and procedures outlined in the agency’s Policy and Procedure Manual, Caregiver Handbook, and Caregiver Training Manual.

Hours: Weekends for now.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, hourly

Pay Range: $16 to $18

Assisting Hands® Home Care strives for excellence in service and seeks a qualified individual who will provide custodial and personal care services to Clients that contract with Assisting Hands® for services under the direction of the Home Care Administrator in compliance with the Plan of Care.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
