The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Technology Store Manager of kite+key, Rutgers Tech Store Piscataway. The Assistant Store Manager will assist the store manager in oversite of the ecommerce website, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collection, Apple reporting and Rutgers Commuter Rewards Program.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Executing marketing plans that drive sale numbers in both in-store and on-line; merchandising, campus relations and providing a high level of customer service.
  • Assist in hiring, scheduling and training store specialists.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • BS in business administration or a related field required or equivalent related experience.
  • A minimum of two years of retail store sales experience.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to identify opportunities to drive sales and effectively communicate these opportunities to the store team.
  • Ability to select the right staff for the store and provide them with complete on-boarding and on-going training.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner with high quality.
  • Ability to anticipate the impact of his or her actions, be accountable for the outcomes and ensure integrity when interacting with others.
  • Passionate about technology
  • Intimate knowledge of Apple and Windows products and accessories
  • Self-motivated and self-directed

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year experience working in a technology retail store
  • Apple Product Professional Certification(s) ACMT and/or PC
  • Knowledge of how to process in and out of warranty claims
  • Prior experience working for Apple Retail
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Photoshop
  • Experience in planning, executing and reporting marketing campaigns
