Department Overview
Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers and responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response. LNG/CNG Engineering and Operations department specifically is responsible for areas related to portable natural gas and natural gas vehicle fueling stations as the asset owner for 32 natural gas vehicle stations throughout the service territory and various sized liquified natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) portable assets to support planned and unplanned gas outage. In addition, LNG/CNG E&O owns LNG/CNG portable asset, mobile CNG stations, cross compressors, generators, odorizers, and flares used to support planned and unplanned projects in Gas Operations.

Position Summary
Supports and provides engineering, technical support, equipment design, and project management for LNG/CNG assets including natural gas combustors, and odorizers. Identifies and supports high priority work to reduce risks, improves processes and supports their implementation, improve equipment performance and reliability, perform condition assessments, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment problems. Serve as liaison between PG&E project teams and LNG/CNG team to provide operational support which can include but not limited to pipeline conditioning, load generation, and combustion.

Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.

Position will require up to 60% of travel time in work schedule.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is: ​
Bay Area Minimum: $95,000
Bay Area Maximum: $143,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $90,000
California Maximum: $136,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities
Performs basic engineering work using established engineering tools, processes and practices to complete work assignments
Partners with more experienced engineers to develop knowledge
Assists with more complex projects
Receives priorities and directions with regard to work performed from supervisor
Reviews work performed with supervisor periodically
Completes well defined tasks independently
Develops basic knowledge of applicable principles, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
Stand on-call for odor fade incidents during off-hours

Qualifications-

Minimum:
BS Engineering
CA Class C License, or equivalent

Desired:
Experience in construction, 1 year
Experience in gas maintenance and construction
EIT-Engineer in Training certification
