Job Summary

The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) will work with Marketing Leadership and have responsibility for the Brand(s) assigned for forecasting, budgeting, consumer communications and advertising, new product development, packaging development, and winning with Retail Customers. Responsibilities focus on helping to deliver the brand P&L through marketing program execution, business analysis, syndicated data assessment, commercialization of new packaging and/or products, partnership with Sales and Customers, and execution of strategic brand plans. A blend of business management, leadership, and brand development skills are critical for success to grow sales, profitability, and market share.


Essential Functions

  • Support in the development of Annual Brand Plans in line with brand positioning and financial goals.
  • Lead ongoing business analysis by tracking brand health, including monthly shipments and consumption to ensure brand team has a deep understanding of velocity, category trends, competitor performance and key drivers of brand share gains or losses. Play an active role in identifying key issues, evaluating competitive & market trends, tracking results, and formulating recommendations to Leadership.
  • Work with external creative agencies to develop and execute Marketing programs such as advertising, consumer promotions, in-store, PR initiatives, recipe development and social media
  • Support the Sr. Brand Manager in managing the brand marketing budget throughout the year. Assist in the development of Annual budget planning process.
  • Track and maintain budgeted financial targets, including advertising, promotion, social media, retailer specific shopper programs, market research, packaging graphics, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to drive growth through distribution programs, develop trade promotion plans in top accounts and ensure execution of velocity driving programs, both at grocery retail and on-line (e.g. AMAZON, Vitacost)
  • Develop key selling materials for shoppers in-store (e.g. shipper displays, tear pads, shelf danglers), and trade customers (e.g. sell sheets, buyer presentations, trade booth materials)
  • Help build the business case and assist the Senior Brand Manager in executing new product launches – from consumer insight to co-packer product commercialization, and in-market success
  • Partner with Brand Managers and internal Ecomm team, plus external agency partners, to develop strategies, plans and engaging content for social media, digital marketing, and DTC web sites.
  • General brand management duties as required to facilitate or expedite PANOS leadership decisions

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus
  • 1-3 years experience in CPG Marketing or Brand Management; specialty, natural or organic industry a plus
  • Experience in brand planning, budgeting, forecasting, new product development, competitive/category assessment, and mining consumer insights preferred
  • Knowledge and business acumen of retail grocery, specialty/natural and other channels of distribution within food industry
  • Ability to analyze and interpret Nielsen/IRI/SPINS syndicated data to make sound decisions and translate into actionable tactics
  • Familiarity in most areas of brand marketing, including current advertising techniques & marketing programs
  • Proficiencies in digital marketing, social media, e-commerce &/or Amazon programs also a plus
