Job Summary

Assist researchers and community partners in the design of research studies, including community based participatory research, and analyze research data under moderate direction. Specific tasks may include preparing and giving presentations, grant writing, designing randomization schedules, calculating power/sample size, selection of appropriate statistical methods, analysis of medical research data and preparation of relevant manuscript sections, tables and figures. A working knowledge of cross-sectional, case-control, cohort and randomized clinical trials study designs required. A working knowledge of general linear mixed models, generalized linear models, longitudinal analysis, survival analysis, survey research methods, analysis of surveys and analysis of observational data required.

Ability to work with complex data and assess validity and appropriateness of data analysis methods. Ability to draw conclusions from analyses and communicate results with researchers and community partners both orally and in writing.

Ability to communicate statistical concepts to researchers and community partners of all levels and backgrounds. Prepare quality figures, tables, statistical methods and results to summarize analyses for journal publications and reports.

Interact and consult with researchers and community partners to ensure proper use of statistical methodology and interpretation of results. Demonstrate accountability to provide complete and accurate information to researchers and community partners.

Qualifications

Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics or related field required.

Experience working with the SAS or R software required. Consulting experience highly recommended. Excellent and clear communications skills in English (both verbal and written) required.
