Belknap-Merrimack Community Action Program- Head Start is seeking a dedicated, conscientious, patient, kind, and caring preschool Assistant Teacher with experience in the early childhood field teaching young children. Must be reliable and dependable, prefer Assistant Teachers who have worked with at-risk children and families.

Hours: This is full-time, School Year 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Children attend 6 hours per day, planning time allotted within work hours.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) degree in Early Childhood or related degree, with 3 credits in Child Growth and Development, or enrolled in a degree program with 9 ECE credits
  • Must have a reliable source of transportation to be used in fulfilling responsibilities of the position

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit for prolonged periods of time; repetitively use hands to finger, handle, or feel, including operation of a standard computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms and talk, see and hear; and lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work may at times be in the infant, toddler, or preschool classroom setting requiring the ability to reach with hands and arms and talk, see and hear’ bend, reach, stoop and crawl; regular lifting of children up to 40 pounds.
