QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D.

· Minimum Level 9 Registry Certificate (www.the-registry.org) with Registry Credential in the appropriate content area is preferred

· Must acquire and maintain First Aid and CPR certification

· Must acquire Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Training

· Must be able to lift, carry and move a minimum of 40

· Must be able to work with children with special needs (learning, behavior problems and physical handicaps)

· Must be able to effectively supervise children using positive guidance techniques

· Must be able to work cooperatively in a team situation

· Must be able to maintain confidentiality of staff, children, families.

· Must demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills

· Must exhibit interpersonal skills necessary to oversee childcare workers, children, and the daily activities of the program.

· Must be able to work independently

  • Monday through Friday 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm

JOB GOALS: To efficiently and effectively carry out the responsibilities outlined below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Management:

· Develop, prepare, and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.

· Organize and utilize the facilities and materials available.

· Implement the behavior management plan outlined in the Cub Care Employee Handbook.

· Assist with cleanup of program areas

· Meet and correspond with parents as needed

· Chart and maintain accurate portfolios and assessments for Children in your care

· Work closely with classroom team, Cub Care staff, Director, parents, and volunteers to meet the goals of Cub Care

Student Supervision:

· Monitor the safety and well-being of children enrolled in Cub Care

· Develop and maintain a safe, healthy, and supervised environment

· Provide consistency, structure, encouragement, patience, understanding and follow-up in daily routines

· Follow the behavior management plan for positive discipline outlined in the employee handbook

· Provide a safe and nurturing environment that is respectful of the individual needs of each child

· Maintain confidentiality in all communications

· Follow Cub Care procedure for the release of the children

Student Health/Safety:

· Provide First Aid to children as needed

· Complete injury reports and logs, notify parents as required

· Dispense medications to students as needed and fill out appropriate documents

Professional Relationships:

· Maintain supportive and positive relationships with children and families

· Maintain effective working relationships with staff.

· Cooperate with staff in carrying out assigned responsibilities

· Seek assistance when necessary

· Communicate with all staff in a professional, respectful manner that is positive and respectful, this includes non-verbal and written forms of communication

· Maintain professional and ethical boundaries with parents of enrolled children, no social relationships.

Perform other duties as directed

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
