Assistant Operations Manager

Position Scope:

The Assistant Operations Manager will work under the supervision of the Plant Manager. This position will assist with production processes and scheduling, oversight of quality and inventory control, and ensuring products are produced on time or projects completed within deadlines. The Assistant Operations Manager will foster continuous improvement and lean practices while maintaining a safe work place.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates with Plant Manager in the timely resolution of plant-related issues
  • Assists Plant Manager in the organization and management of day-to-day plant operations and activities
  • Collaborates with purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on materials and production inventories.
  • Coaches and trains team of workers in achieving daily production goals
  • Determines resource requirements, work allocation and production deadlines to achieve production objectives.
  • Implements continuous plant improvements for increased productivity and scrap reduction
  • Implements cost reduction initiatives to minimize plant and labor expenditures
  • Budgets for assigned areas of operations
  • Plant production schedules and goals are met
  • Meet or exceed personal monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Work is conducted in a safe manner

Required Education, Experience and Critical Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferredgh school education or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role in the manufacturing industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of standard concepts, safety practices and procedures within the metal fabrication industry to include an understanding of manufacturing process flow.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of standingas needed for facility operations activities
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (as required by manufacturing facility (i.e., hearing and eye protection))

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
