This unique position requires a person with strong leadership skills and a strong work ethic. Detail oriented, excellent customer service skills, excellent communicator, reliable, and self-driven. Must thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Front of House responsibilities include, but not limited to, coordinating and working directly with the General Manager and Manager in assisting with the overall hiring process and team member performance reviews; develop, implement, and review operational policies and procedures; develop and implement team member initiatives and challenges; lead and manage front of house team.

Back of House responsibilites require you to lead all aspects of the kitchen, including, but not limited to prepping food, cooking dishes for winery guests, organizing menus for events, training new kitchen team members, adhering to any and all Health Department Standards, organize kitchen processes to maintain high quality, safety, efficiency, and profitability.

Salaried position, minimum 40 hours per week. Afternoons, evenings, and weekends (closed on Sundays).

Requirements:

  • Food Industry experience

  • ServSafe Food Handler/Manager

  • Ability to work independently and to work as a team

  • Ability to work as a Team Leader...willing to lead all kitchen team members

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Provide exceptional quality food items that align with the “Gillig Standard”

  • Maintain an exceptionally clean and organized kitchen environment

  • Maintains appropriate food inventory as well as appropriate amount of sets/food necessary to serve to our guests

  • Able to work clear-minded in a fast-paced environment while multitasking

  • Maintains, trains, and leads all kitchen team members

  • Provides instructions in a clear and concise manner to all kitchen team members as to what is expected of them

  • Attention to detail

  • Solve problems and make decisions quickly when necessary


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities of food preparation, purchases of food and kitchen supplies, utilize food surpluses

  • Work with Manager to plan menus for all public and private events

  • Develop monthly food and drink specials

  • Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic

  • Utensils and dishes are washed and stored according to Health Department guidelines

  • Perform food preparation, plating, service and clean up

  • Ensure all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, including storage areas and refrigeration units

  • Lead all kitchen personnel to ensure cleanliness of kitchen and equipment

  • Train new team members and assists in required evaluations with such team members as needed


Assist Manager with overseeing all Front of House and Back of House Team Members:


  • Provide inspired leadership for the organization

  • Ensure exceptional customer service to our guests

  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale

  • Develop and implement team member initiatives and challenges

  • Develop and implement team member incentives and rewards

  • Support team member communication with the upper management team

  • Handle call-offs and schedule changes

  • Assist GM/Manager in evaluating potential candidates during the hiring process

  • Assist GM/Manager in the interview process during the hiring process

  • Assist Manager to ensure training is scheduled and followed through on all team members hired

  • Assist GM/Manager to update Employee Handbook and policies as needed

  • Assist Manager to ensure team member compliance to Employee Handbook

  • Assist Manager with any necessary disciplinary actions to correct behavior and document issues

  • Minute recorder/publisher for monthly team meetings
