Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detailed research assistant to collaborate with our Structural Heart Research team on complex clinical trials. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with some experience in the medical field, health sciences or medical education. This is a part time, temp position.

Responsibilities*

  • Complex data collection and data entry for study subject’s screening assessments, valve procedure and follow up visits.
  • Source document completion and providing to PIs and sponsor for review
  • Providing Patient Payments
  • Performing patient follow up visits which includes administering questionnaires and assessing for Adverse Events
  • Scheduling of patient follow ups
  • Other tasks implemented by the study team

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently or recently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Health Sciences program
  • Looking to pursue a medical career or attend medical school
  • Organized
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and have flexibility to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and ability to work through technology with ease (Microsoft, multiple database systems, etc)

Desired Qualifications*

  • Working knowledge of clinical trials
  • Previous experience working with people in a customer service industry

Work Schedule

Work is on site at Michigan Medicine Hospital. Working hours are during the day, but are flexible and arranged with manager.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
