This is a full time position working Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and some evenings and weekends.
The City of Lincoln (NE) is seeking a motivated, professional leader to supervise and participate in the work of the Assistant Health Director.
This is highly responsible professional, administrative and supervisory work planning, organizing, and assisting with the activities of the Health Department.
Work involves assisting the Health Director with a broad scope of administrative and leadership duties within the Department; interacting with other departments, outside agencies and the general public; and assisting in departmental policy development, implementation, assurance, and assessment. Interacts with elected officials, board of health, and other health care services agencies and personnel as requested. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Health Director and reviewed through conferences and results achieved. Supervision is exercised over subordinate professional staff. This employee is expected to be an effective leader and exercise considerable independent judgement.
Qualifications: Master's degree in public health, public health administration, public or business administration, or related field; and four years of experience developing, implementing and monitoring public health programs and two years of experience in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination or training and experience.
To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.
To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
