The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for an Assistant Editor to join its team.

Job Summary

The IAPP is seeking an Assistant Editor to edit, review and prepare articles, and other multimedia offerings for the publications team. The Assistant Editor is an entry level position that will work closely with other team members to disseminate content in accordance with the IAPP mission to provide information to its members so they can make smart decisions in their day-to-day jobs.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Edit a wide variety of content offerings including short news items, in-depth articles, research reports, video and audio reports.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and across the organization on editorial projects.
  • Solicit and edit contributions from subject matter experts and other outside contributors.
  • Filter and synthesize privacy news and occasionally write brief news summaries for e-newsletters.
  • Upload, tag and prepare articles in content management system.
  • Respond to members looking for information.
  • Support team with administrative tasks, including backup newsletter production.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; and at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiar with AP Style.

Work Environment

We have a hybrid work environment and are asking applicants to be within a commutable distance to our Portsmouth, NH office.
