Summary of Position
In collaboration with the Associate Director/Dean of Online Learning, lead the continued growth and development of credit and non-credit online courses and programs for UNH and UNH Manchester. This includes implementing comprehensive recruitment, admissions and retention strategies to attract and retain online students at the University of New Hampshire and UNH Manchester as well as ongoing communication and support of online program coordinators, faculty members and other stakeholder groups. The Assistant Director will supervise the UNH Online Student Success Coach Team, while continuing to work directly with students and stakeholder groups directly recruiting, communicating, and supporting the strategic enrollment management process of UNH Online. The individual will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Graduate School, other UNH Colleges, and UNH Manchester to support enrollment and retention goals following a student-first philosophy, supporting progression to course and degree completion while removing barriers to success. The individual will process-manage the on-boarding of new programs, by working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure and support new online program development and program launch.

Other minimum qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Education, Management, Business Administration or related area and three to five years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in online education, student recruitment, student support services and student retention.
  • Experience leading a team
  • Familiar with current trends in online learning, student success and the future of higher education.
  • Strong computer skills and a willingness to explore new technologies.
  • Experience and fluency with Salesforce, and/or other CRM systems, Banner and/or other SIS, Microsoft products.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated record of successfully developing and implementing strategies designed to increase student enrollment and retention in an online environment.
  • Three or more years of progressive management experience in and education environment.
  • Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in working with an adult student population.
  • Experience teaching online in a higher education setting.
