Job Description:
In partnership with the College Education, the Assistant Director for the Office of Field and international Experience (OFIE) will place P-12 teacher candidates within sites in public school districts. The Assistant Director will facilitate, manage, and nurture relationship building. In addition, the Assistant Director will serve as the instructor for College of Education First Year Experience courses, co-teach seminars for student teachers or other teacher preparation related courses. The Assistant Director will also be involved with collaborative planning, preparation and delivery of professional development activities for students, university and/or public school faculty.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Education, Human Resources, Communication, Human Services, or related area. (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)

  • Demonstrated skill with oral and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

  • Masters Degree in Education, Human Resources, Communication, Human Services, or related area.

  • Minimum of two (2) years professional work experience with P-12 schools or higher education.

  • Demonstrated teaching experience with grades K-12.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in coaching, mentoring, and assessment of teacher and/or teacher candidate performance

  • Demonstrated Experience with instructional/educational technology.

  • Demonstrated skill with word processing and excel.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability for handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes (check all that apply): Please Note: Work modes are at the discretion of management and implemented in accordance with the previously mentioned policies.
  • Telework: A position with a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a regular basis at a telework location that is not the employees permanent/principal work location. Up to 20% of the time

Must have a vaild U.S. drivers license.

Travel will be required to school sites where students are engaged in field experience for student teaching and/or pre-student teaching placement.

Materials must be transported when professional development activities are planned and delivered by this position.

  • The salary range denoted above is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
