TITLE: Assistant Controller

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise Senior Accountants and or Clerks who will be processing various receivables, journal entries and performing other functions for ARC and THQ accounts.
• Manage Cash position and prepare month and yearend reports for management and auditors.
• Correspond with management and field units for troubleshooting and problem solving with cash, accounting, and reports.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee Divisional construction accounts.
• Manage Fixed Assets Inventory, book depreciation and reconcile with GL
• Perform Finance Review for APW and Care for Stores or Centers.
• Add general ledger accounts to Shelby System as needed
• Create, enter, post monthly allocation journals to stores, Production or Centers
• Process recurring and non-recurring journals.
• Create budget templates in Vivid.
• Generate, review, and post the payroll journal for the entire Division bi-weekly.
• Reconcile receivables subledger to the general ledger in Shelby monthly.
• Communicate with employees/officers or vendors for resolution of accounting issues.
• Other accounting related tasks as assigned by Controller.

CASH RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor daily position making periodic analysis using certain investment skills and business acumen.
• Maintain the cash flow forecasts across all bank accounts/funds.
• Investigate and propose possible resolution for any discrepancies related to cash transactions.
• Cash Forecasting – weekly, Monthly and Quarterly

REPORTING

• Generate reports and perform budget review and trend analysis.
• Create reports for year-end tasks for internal audits and annual external audits.
• Prepare Monthly Cash Flow Report for TFC

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting.

Minimum 5 years supervisory experience

Experience in use of Windows PC and MS Office applications.

Preferred Skills

MS Excel – familiar with the creation and use of advanced spreadsheet tools and complex formulas.

MS Word and Outlook – good written and oral communication skills. Able to complete business correspondence with proper etiquette and grammar.

Experience with Shelby software a plus.

Additional Notes

Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, adaptable, work well with a team and able to handle confidential matters with discretion.
