The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is currently seeking an Assistant Attorney General for our Consumer Protection Unit.

Job Summary:

The Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Unit (CPU) is responsible for enforcing state and federal laws that protect consumers from fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices. CPU attorneys engage in both criminal prosecution and civil litigation to enforce the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act, the Oklahoma Antitrust Reform Act, and statutes regulating charitable organizations, telemarketing, data privacy, and price gouging. In addition, CPU attorneys often collaborate with their counterparts in other states to investigate unlawful practices that occur on a regional or national scale. Finally, CPU attorneys participate in community outreach and education events to provide the public with tools to help avoid becoming victims of fraud.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be licensed attorneys in the State of Oklahoma, with strong writing and oral advocacy skills. Preference will be given to applicants experienced in criminal prosecution and/or civil litigation.

All applicants must agree in writing to complete, and satisfactorily pass, a thorough background investigation by the Office of Attorney General.
