JOB SUMMARY

The Assembly Manager role requires a high level of expertise in the building of complex assembly-to-order, configure-to-order and engineer-to-order electromechanical machines and significant coordination of related resources - materials, parts, equipment, and people, to support this function. This role is responsible for proper planning, scheduling and final assembly of our product line ensuring on-time delivery, quality and effective cost management. The position requires high levels of proficiency in using ERP capabilities to execute these responsibilities. Must be able to understand and diagnose all issues that might prevent successful on-time delivery of products whether they be related to sales orders, purchase orders, work orders, quality, manufacturability or engineering.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

• Coordinates all activities of the final assembly function with high level of accountability to ensuring on-time delivery to our customers

Coordinates with planning, fabrication, and material handling to schedule work orders, materials and team resources to make sure they are aligned with the customer delivery requirements

Able to understand team skills and capabilities and assign them appropriately to assembly jobs of varying complexity

Must be able to review Sales Orders and understand requirements, verify accuracy, identify bottlenecks, assess build time, and establish priorities

Must be able to work with engineering on NPI and engineer-to-order projects and coordinate final assembly testing for customers on and off-site

Able to understand the complexity and skills required to build all CLIMAX products from a final assembly perspective

*
Must manage a diverse team of assembly resource that include resources that range from entry level machine builders to high seniority, highly experienced machine builders

*
Coordinates with the Shipping function to schedule the availability/completion of machines to synchronize with the kitting of related accessories and tools prior to shipment

Responsible for both the efficiency and productivity of the Assembly function and is a major contributor to on-time delivery and quality of all machines

May require some coordination of resources to support field assembly and testing activities at customer sites

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE*
Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience and/or training is required

The following experience is required:

• Minimum experience of five years managing resources in a manufacturing environment involving both fabrication and assembly production activities

Experience in the manufacture of highly-engineered mechanical/electromechanical devices

*
Applied machine building skills and understanding of concepts and principles to support production efficiency

*
High proficiency in ERP production and inventory management functions

*
Experience scheduling and coordinating production resources to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders

The following experience is Preferred:

• Strong analytical skills required for developing efficient processes, systems and methods to execute efficiently within a production Assembly team

Experience working in advanced quality systems such as medical, military, or aerospace

*
Experience with supporting phase-gate new product development programs

*
APICS and/or Lean Six Sigma certification

Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
