The Boeing Defense, Space and Security division is looking for an experience Assembler to join our Spectrolab team. Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, has an exciting opportunity for Product Hardware & Software Design Engineer to join us as part of our Product Design team located in Sylmar, CA

This candidate will perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform hand soldering, wire harness assembly and component bonding
• Complete documentation accurately
• Operates tools and equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, solder iron, wire identification and associated tools
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations
• Demonstrated experience using a computer to look up and record information (Excel & Word)
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
• Reliable, mechanically inclined, detail orientated
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and displays a positive attitude
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Work overtime as required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Must wear a smock, hair cover, and gloves during work
• Requires accurate visual acuity

This position is for 1st shift.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing assembly production environment
• Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and work instructions in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in J-std-001 Soldering

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
