The Role

Reporting to the Director of North America Asphalt Sales, you will play a key part in the integration of marketing asphalt in the wholesale and retail markets of our mainland refineries. As part of your specific responsibilities, in the following areas, you will:

  • Develop and maintain effective relationship with all customers, ensuring customer expectations are met through proactive problem identification and resolution strategies.
  • Maintain and/or increase sales volume for company’s products and services, while maintaining sales expense budget.
  • Work closely with the Director of North America Asphalt Sales in developing sales and marketing programs to reach sales goals effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide short and long-term forecasts for budget purposes.
  • Creating accurate quotes and proposals according to customers’ needs as well as bid specifications.
  • Updating and sending out pricing to customers.
  • Develop plan for own annual performance review with management’s assistance.
  • Keep up to date on product changes, selling strategies, competitive methods, expense control, etc.
  • Manage administrative duties to include full detailed reports and status updates meeting established deadlines and objectives.
  • Establish annual sales forecast by product and recommend sales programs to reach sales projections.

The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Asphalt Marketer opportunity, you will have:

  • Individual must have 5+ years of seasoned sales experience in the asphalt industry.
  • Strong negotiating skills, sense of urgency, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of asphalt market, trucking & rail logistics.
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel as it is a primary tool used daily in this role. The ability to build, use, dissect, and troubleshoot Excel formulas is a must.
  • A keen attention to detail and critical reasoning.
  • Timely internal and external communications.
  • A self-starter approach with the ability to work with little or no supervision in an independent and collaborative team environment.
  • Attend all asphalt related meetings for State DOT’s & Paving Organizations, Asphalt Institute, National Asphalt Paving Association.
  • Highly developed oral, verbal, and written communication skills and an ability to work with management.
  • Ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Ability to make presentations in front of many people.
  • Ability to effectively work with customers, employees, and suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze issues independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Pay Range:

$107,894 - $161,841

Other Compensation:

Employee is eligible for an annual incentive program targeted as 15% of annual pay based upon both company financial performance and individual performance to goals.
