Libertae Inc. is looking to hire an Art Therapist to join our highly dynamic and growing team who will report directly to Clinical Director. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and committed to empowering the lives of women in recovery as well as their children.

The Art Therapist will be working with clients by encouraging them to play, create, and explore as part of a rehabilitation program. This is a wonderful opportunity for the art therapist to have full artistic freedom to expand and develop our creative arts department.

The successful candidate will be working 8 hours every day for a 40 hour week. This will be flexible between days, nights, and/or weekends. The earliest start time will be 8am and the end time of work will be 8pm at the latest.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Conduct art therapy sessions providing guided self-expression experiences to help clients recover from substance use and mental health disorders and improve their emotional well-being
• Instruct clients in the use of various types of art media
• Interpret the artistic creations of clients to assess their functioning, needs, and progress
• Able to work both with clients on an individual and group setting basis
• Create an individualized therapeutic treatment plan that incorporates studio art with counseling and psychotherapy techniques and execute it in a timely manner
• Willing to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to document and report essential findings while working with clients

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's Degree, moving towards credentials
• Knowledge of principles, concepts and methodology of art therapy and counseling skills appropriate for clients struggling with addiction and mental health
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to develop and maintain rapport with the clients and their families
• Knowledge of substance use disorders and 12-step programs
• Experience with trauma-informed services, cognitive-behavioral and motivational therapies preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Up to date knowledge of behavioral mental health, addiction, and gender-responsive treatment
