We are seeking at Area Medical Director to run a number of practices in the San Francisco, CA area.

The Area Medical Director has a number of responsibilities and duties within their region. The most important of which is the supervision and support of the veterinarians in and around their region. The AMD must at all times be an example to the veterinarians in their area. Giving guidance and training to them when and where it is needed, in doing so the development of the doctors continues for the betterment of the client.

You will partner with the Field Operations and People Operations team to help guide conversations with Clinical Directors around the business operations and people management related to clinical workflows and performance concerns.

Key Duties

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a role model and set the highest of standards of veterinary medicine
  • Provide training to veterinarians in a number of areas including but not limited to surgery, dentistry and wellness examinations.
  • Provide/create solutions to support the efficient use of practice management software.
  • Manage the practices work flow to ensure effective and efficient measures are always upheld
  • Ensure that clinical standards are upheld at all times. Conduct reviews on all doctors to ensure that those who are in need of improvement are given every opportunity to do so.
  • Contribute to the clinical schedule to support the success of the hospitals in your region.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Clinical Directors, Associate Veterinarians, and New Graduate Veterinarians.
  • Carry out a number of supervisory responsibilities in line with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Support managing performance of Veterinarians in the portfolio by following the Performance management process set by People Operations to coach and develop Clinical Directors.
