Job Description: Itaconix is seeking a chemist with deep knowledge and experience in formulating new personal care products to join our cross-disciplinary team working on novel plant-based itaconate polymers. The successful candidate will join our cross-disciplinary team to lead the development of new formulations using new plant-based ingredients. Responsibilities will cover all aspects of technical support for new personal care revenues, ranging from wet chemistry experiments and running analytical assays to formulation performance and stability. Excellent communication abilities, computer skills and problem-solving capabilities are required. Preference will be given to an individual with previous experience in hair and skin care.

Job summary:

• Develop and manage chemistry, application, formulations, and process development projects.
• Create new processes, materials, methods and approaches as needed to complete development projects.
• Recommend product and process improvements to improve Itaconix’s customer and market potential.
• Master and maintain superior understanding of ltaconix products, including functional performance, usage parameters and potential applications.
• Make recommendations for providing current and prospective customers with the information needed to understand and use ltaconix’s products.
• Assist and support in development of marketing materials.
• Set up and operate scientific apparatus, instruments and equipment.
• Carry out experiments, gather and analyze data including input for electronic processing.
• Keeping accurate records of experimental approach and procedures
• Maintain and enforce general facility safety

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of education in chemistry or a directly relevant field of study
• 3+ years of previous wet chemistry laboratory work experience (academic or industrial).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation: $70,000-90,000/year
