SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Application Systems Analyst ensures the accuracy and adequacy of prepared programs by testing procedures, recommending actions and/or making necessary changes. This position is also responsible for applying updates and patches to existing systems. As part of the duties related to software implementation and maintenance, the incumbent will document, analyze, and report on (or rewrite) certain program specifications or procedures to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

Incumbents in this role will be considered for progression to the next level when it is determined that they have attained a combination of tenure in the position, proficiency in the current job duties, and an ability to take on more complex tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Primary point of contact for SysAid tickets
  • Monitor system email boxes
  • Annual PM
  • Deploy/fix workstations
  • Trouble shoot Server/Network issues
  • Schedule and implement software patches for the Horizon system
  • Create reports and maintain the Horizon 360 and Accounts Payable applications
  • Update the Marquette web site
  • Maintain network configuration and network and software user access
  • Monitor network hardware/applications (RSA, Quorum, Exchange, etc.)
  • Respond to and see to the proper resolution of Tech Support calls
  • Perform duties related to hardware maintenance
  • Update system and IT procedure documentation as needed
  • Report hardware or software issues to appropriate vendors
  • Monitor the web fax email system
  • Monitor the network administrator mailbox for system alerts
  • Act as project leader with team to complete project installations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing the Bank in the community and making appropriate referrals regarding new business
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Marginal Functions:

  • Involved in miscellaneous projects such as Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Implementation
  • Order supplies for all network printers
  • Process the monthly save of the entire system following System Save Backup Tapes procedure (shared duty with System Operator)
  • Back-up to System Operator (run BOSS and perform nightly backups to main system as well as burst monthly and annual forms and signature card scanning)
  • Back-up to other IT positions and duties
Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Education And/Or Experience:

College degree in computer related field required; some working knowledge of Windows NT Server, AS/400; and 3-5 years of experience in an IT network, systems, and/or programming environment. Any combination of education, technical skills training, and experience in related fields will be considered. Knowledge of computer administration, data elements and codes, numerical analysis, programming techniques, and equipment utilization are preferred.

Compliance Knowledge:

Ability to demonstrate general knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act/USA Patriot Act, Privacy laws and regulations, as well as any applicable consumer protection laws and regulations.

General knowledge of information security is required. This includes understanding the importance of safekeeping confidential customer information, understanding and acknowledgement of Bank policies in relation to information security, and maintaining safety in the Bank’s network.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization. Advanced computer literacy.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and measurement units.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and sit; and to use hands to finger, handle, or touch. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy.

The employee will occasionally be exposed to electrical shock; and may perform occasional work/job related travel.

Employee in this position will be required to work in an indoor environment and come in direct contact with staff.
