Animal Caregiver I for SPCA of Northern Nevada

This position supports Adoption Center operations by keeping animal areas clean, organizing supplies, preparing animal meals, and more. While this position does not involve animal handling, opportunities for advancement within our organization are available. We are looking for individuals who want to learn fact-based knowledge about pets and grow with us!

Thursday through Sunday availability preferred.

About you:
· Positive, optimistic person who loves pets AND people! If you are a people person, we want you! If you’re outgoing, cordial, and you love to help people… we really, really want you!

· Passion for animals, cleaning, feeding, and giving daily doses of love and enrichment. Understanding of animal behavior and health care is a plus.

· You are a strong team player and know how to work independently.

· You prioritize and manage time efficiently, and thrive on bringing order to chaos.

· Detail-oriented. Attention to detail is critical for this position as our animals depend on you to follow very specific protocols exactly.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to communicate effectively and specifically with co-workers, volunteers, and the public.

· You must be able to work holidays and weekends because our animals require daily care and enrichment.

· Must be punctual and reliable because our animals are depending on you!

· Able to lift and carry 50 pounds unassisted. This is a physically demanding job with lots of motion throughout the day.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
