Job Summary
Denver Health & Hospital (DHHA), in the heart of thriving downtown Denver, CO, is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist, who is Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology to join our team. The successful candidate will be joining a group of 17 physicians with 24/7 in-house coverage. Call on average is 1-2 nights/month with back-up call averaging 1-2 nights/month. This is an academic position with teaching and supervision over a mix of residents, CRNAs, and medical students. DHHA has been certified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Adult Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. DHHA offers comprehensive surgical, obstetric, medical and psychiatric care, as well as emergency, ambulatory and diagnostic services. With 525 licensed beds Denver Health Medical Center is one of the state’s busiest hospitals with more than 26,000 admissions annually. As Colorado’s premier safety net institution, DHHA offers unique clinical and academic opportunities addressing the needs of our patient population. DHHA is an affiliate hospital of the University of Colorado School, at Denver, School of Medicine and all DH faculty will have an academic appointment through the school of medicine. The successful candidate will have completed a terminal medical degree (e.g. MD or DO) and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology. Candidate can be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatric Anesthesiology as well. The candidate will receive an academic appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences at an academic rank commensurate with experience. 1. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques. 2. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. 3. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. 4. Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. 5. Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills. 6. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. 7. Performs in a tactful and professional manner. 8. Education
  • Doctorate Degree (Required) Graduation from an Accredited Medical School and completed Accredited Residency Programs and fellowships for specialist, equivalent. Equivalent training for those Physicians who are not U.S. residency trained. The MSEC can grant privileges on a one-on-one review.

  • Physician (Required) Medical license to practice in State of Colorado. Physician Board certification in professional medical discipline. Medical license to practice in State of Colorado. Physician Board certification in professional medical discipline.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from American Heart Association (Required) Appropriate certifications designated by department i.e. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Etc.Appropriate certifications designated by department i.e. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Etc.
