Job description
Position Summary:
Federal Data Systems is looking for an AI/ML Developer to join our in-house development team and support capability development for FEDDATA’s Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) SaaS platform, Revelare™. This individual will work within our Platform team to design, develop, and integrate new algorithms, models, and capabilities into the existing platform. Additionally, this individual will work with new and existing datasets to determine if new statistical fields should be considered for inclusion through the ETL process to drive further capability development.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Reviews new datasets for collection and integration within the existing SaaS environment.
  • Interacting with various data types, formats and structures in a clear and appropriate manner to enable robust pre-processing, normalization or other manipulations as needed.
  • Aid in the development of strategies and roadmaps for machine learning and other advanced analytics areas (e.g., natural language processing, neural networks, computer vision, ML platforms, open-source libraries, event-driven stream processing, data warehouses).
  • Performing prototype implementation of the algorithms developed and demonstration with appropriate datasets.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Data Science or equivalent degree program.
  • Must have 5+ years of cumulative experience working in Data Science, AI/ML, and/or Software Engineering with an AI/ML focus.
  • Required Security Clearance: None.
  • Experience with the following operating systems, frameworks, and programming languages (or similar).
    • Languages: R, Python, Java,
    • Frameworks: Neo4J, Graphana, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Caffe
    • Operating System(s): Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Experience with a variety of problem types, such as classification, object detection and/or segmentation.
  • Experience with software engineering concepts, including version control and unit testing.
  • Experience with popular NLP libraries, such as NLTK.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Docker containerization
  • Experience with GPU (graphics processing unit) computation.
  • Experience identifying, collecting, managing, and processing large amounts of data.
Working Conditions:
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:
May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:
Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
