OVERVIEW
The Afterschool Counselor will engage in outdoor recreational activities with children in a positive and supportive environment to encourage an appreciation of nature and life-long learning. The Afterschool Counselor will provide quality care and enrichment for each child while enhancing their social skills, elevate their activity level, and promote an appreciation of nature in a fun and safe atmosphere. In this outdoor environment, positive individuals will encourage meaningful relationships with the children, families, and their team.

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Assist with the supervision of academic, recreational, and enrichment activities
• Actively engage in the facilitation of program activities with a passion for working with children in the outdoors
• Create a healthy and safe environment by using best practices and proactive problem solving
• Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Negative PPD (TB skin test)
• Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training; will train
• Must be comfortable being outdoors and able to remain on feet for extended periods of time

Pay: $10.00 - $16.23 per hour
