Job Description:

• Position is full time at Camp Pendleton CA supporting I MEF Expeditionary Operations Training Group (G-7), in a mixed civilian/military environment providing training, evaluation and certification to deploying Marine Expeditionary Units.

· Instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Advanced Sniper training; Urban Sniper training, and Helicopter Sniper training courses in support of MEU operations.

· Conduct formal classes and live fire marksmanship/tactics instruction.

· Assist in development and execution of training courses and exercises.

· Serve as instructor/evaluator during pre-deployment certification exercises.

• Participate in High Risk Training (HRT) and perform ORM assessments to ensure that HRT events are executed safely.
• Provide the students feedback on their progression and performance, and when necessary, facilitate opportunities to remediate in areas where students are not meeting the training objectives.
• Travel: Approx. 6 weeks per year off base training in Southwest US locations; conduct periodic off base site surveys; attend various sustainment training when available.
• May occasionally be required to work non-routine office hours, travel to other locations, or work extended hours in support of training event or exercise.

Requirements:

· USMC MOS 0317 or 8541; (additional 0321 or 0372 a plus).

· Secret clearance (or capable of gaining one).

· Past performance in conducting live fire sniper training events.

· Combat veteran with recent and relevant experience in current TTP’s.

· Familiarity with helicopter platform shooting techniques.

· Experienced with use of scout snipers in support of limited scale company size amphibious raids; helo-borne raids; mechanized raids training.

· USMC Basic Instructor Course or service equivalent.

· USMC Sergeants Course or higher, or service equivalent.

· Knowledge of commercially procured computer applications (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of documents, charts, graphs, and briefing materials.
