The Advanced Project Engineer candidate must have proven experience Designing, Configuring, Implementing, Testing, and Documenting Converge Networks (Data, Voice, and Video) for LAN and WAN. The candidate must be able to develop Proposals and Projects following RFQ Specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Configuration and Implementation of Convergent Networks (Data, Voice, and Video)
  • Network and infrastructure design, configuration, implementation, testing and documentation.
  • Develop a design following Project Specifications
  • Develop Engineering documents and drawings based on the design and equipment deliverables.
  • Design network infrastructure composed of Switches, Routers and Firewalls utilizing OSPF, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, and VPN.
  • Develop conceptual designs and documenting budgetary or firm estimates on tight deadlines with limited information.
  • Make and document all assumptions during proposal/project development
  • Coordinate with the proposal/project team, including other Systems Specialists
  • Compose proposal and project documentation following customer specifications
  • Work within the limits of the project specifications, and scope of work.
  • Develop project bill of materials, clarification, and exceptions.
  • Understand when/where standards can/cannot be used and why design deviations would be used or recommended for a Network Design
  • Implement and configure the Network Equipment in Industrial Environments.

You Should Have:

  • BS Degree in engineering or related field or 12 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • 8+ years’ experience in engineering and delivering network solutions.
  • 8+ years’ experience designing and documenting LAN/WAN/WLAN Networks
  • 5+ years’ experience with RFQ specifications and estimating network equipment.
  • 5+ years of Cisco Routing & Switch proven experience
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Hands on Experience configuring Network Switches and Routers

We Value:

  • Virtualization/VMWare knowledge.
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification or higher
  • Experience designing Convergent Networks (Data, Voice, and Video)
  • Very strong Layer 2 & 3 Networking skills.
  • Strong understanding of IP Addressing and Routing Protocols
  • Strong WAN expertise emphasizing on OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VPN, and MPLS
  • Knowledge of Structured Cabling
  • RCDD Certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and AutoCad.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls is a plus
  • Experience with SONET/SDH Networks is a plus
  • Experience with Video Surveillance Networks is a Plus
  • Expertise on VoIP is a plus
  • Expertise on Wireless Networks is a plus
  • Expertise in QoS is a plus.
  • Experience with Microwave Systems is a Plus.
  • Experience working in Industrial Environments is a Plus.
  • Knowledge in the use of Personal Protection Equipment is a Plus

Required for this position:

  • Travel up to 70%
  • Comfortable with domestic and international travel for specific periods of time
  • Comfortable working on both Office and Industrial Environments (Oil and Gas)
