Additionally, Lewisham has commissioned us to test a pilot Tier 2 weight management service targeted to people from the Black African and Black Caribbean communities.

Our close-knit team of eleven Assistants are key and valued members of the wider multidisciplinary team delivering our weight management interventions.

This is an advanced-level dietetic assistant post. You must have experience of delivering behaviour change interventions to groups of patients with complex obesity, and be confident using virtual platforms. You should have experience of delivering interventions to people from the Black African and Black Caribbean communities. You must have a developed understanding of weight bias and stigma in both healthcare and everyday life.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion within our team, and very much welcome applications from those with Black heritage, and those living with disability.

You can choose to work remotely from home for some of the time and from the hospital, delivering the online interventions, as well as delivering face-to-face groups at community sites across South East London.

You will work 09:00-17:00 three days per week, and 11:30-19:30 two days per week, plus some Saturday morning work.

You will provide administrative and clinical support to dietitians, physiotherapists, doctors and the psychology teams.

You will deliver group interventions yourself virtually and face to face across South East London. You will be named coach for set groups, and as well as facilitating peer support, will respond to queries raised, and liaise with GPs.

You will collect and analyse a wide range of demographic and clinical information. In addition, the post holder will actively be involved in the Trust's clinical governance programme and quality agenda framework for ensuring continuing professional development, audit and research activities within this specialist area.

We are the largest Dietetics Department in the UK, employing over 150 dietitians, dietetic assistants, psychologists, nutrition nurses, administrators, pathway coordinators, project managers and operational leads.

We actively encourage and support learning and development. We have an active health and wellbeing team, and a working group developing sustainability across our range of functions and services.

As part of the King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre we actively promote audit and research, and there will be opportunities for you to be involved with projects.
