This position will perform prescribed procedures to compute and/or compile statistical data used by more senior level personnel in the actuarial department including pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, management reporting and other projects as needed.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist in the preparation and submission of rate filings.
• Assist in the preparation of loss reserve studies.
• Perform standard analysis, such as the calculation of loss development triangles, trending of losses to ultimate, and calculation of on level exposure factors.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of various pricing models.
• Become knowledgeable with the various sources of data within the company.
• Work with various software tools to gather and analyze data.
• Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
• Respond positively to direction and criticism of performance.
• Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or comparable discipline required
• Experience in Property & Casualty pricing and reserving preferred
• 2 exams from the Casualty Actuarial Society (incumbent expected to continue work toward and ultimately obtain Fellowship) required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with spreadsheet and database software

The expected salary range for this position is $75,366.36 - $83,740.40. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
