Today our Accounting team is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our knowledgeable and cohesive team. This full-time exempt position is based out of our Tewksbury office and reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager. We work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote. Our Accounts Receivable Specialist will ensure customer payments are processed efficiently and they will be a key team player in the process to ensure great ongoing relationships with our strategic customers.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Record cash receipts, reconcile variances and prepare A/R adjustments as necessary
  • Prepare weekly collections status report for management
  • Monitor A/R Aging to identify overdue accounts, contact customers to determine status and
  • Collectability
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for related accounts
  • Calculate (as needed) the reserve for bad debt
  • Research, reconcile and resolve billing and payment discrepancies
  • Serve as A/R contact for inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Work with management to improve billing/cash application procedures
  • Participate in system upgrades/implementations
  • Maintain customer account information and set up new accounts as needed
  • Regularly collect outstanding customer balances, maintaining a clean accounts receivable aging report
  • Month end reporting including preparation of deduction and terms discount accrual journal entries
  • Execute account and customer statement reconciliations
  • Mentor, lead and guide the billing specialist
  • Create as hoc reports as necessary
  • Assist with financial audits as necessary

In addition, for this role specifically, we are seeking someone who:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable
  • Experience with large ERP systems, IFS a plus but not required
  • Strong computer proficiency, specifically using pivot tables and v-lookups in Excel.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively by phone, video conferencing, and email.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and takes a pro-active approach.
