As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Accounts Payable process. Supervise and coordinate activities of associates engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for planning and organizing the accounts payable function including: Vendor creation and maintenance, reconciliation of accounts payable aging, other AP reporting as required, vendor invoice entry and payment processing, and leading year end 1099 reporting processes and W-9 maintenance.
  • Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, as well as maintaining accurate records and control reports.
  • Analyzes the Accounts Payable function and work flows in order to identify potential improvements to processes and controls where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with accounts payable personnel and other departments to answer questions and investigate and resolve identified errors.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • Addressing performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Trains individuals on various aspects of the Accounts Payable function of various companies and units
  • Reviews and updates process and control documentation for the Accounts Payable function, including user guides and references.
  • Process, maintain, and reconcile monthly account/vendor balances.
  • Address errors and complaints.
  • Drives and supports continuous improvement to optimize processes and utilization of resources.
  • Performs other related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, accounting or related field or equivalent
  • 5+ years AP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Business Central
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills needed
  • Team Lead experience preferred
  • Able to work with all departments to resolve open payables
  • Has the ability to identify and handle conflicts sensibly, fairly and efficiently.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external vendors.
