Our company is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. An ideal candidate will be familiar with AP processing and responsive to our customer service-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for paying invoices and matching PO numbers to AP transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with accounting experience and a willingness to learn new software and innovative processes.

Responsibilities:

  • ·Performing accounts payable purchasing activities, including invoice submission tracking, project coding, obtaining invoice approvals, payment processing for multiple entities/ departments, filing and data storage, and creating process efficiencies as needed.
  • ·Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
  • Handles vendor correspondence via phone or email.
  • Set up new vendors accurately.
  • Handles submission of credit applications as requested by vendors.
  • Reconciles incoming vendor statements.
  • Attaches the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.
  • Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
  • Prepares batch check runs and credit card payments according to procedure.
  • Assists with monthly/ weekly status reports, and monthly closings.
  • Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
  • Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
  • Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting Department.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
