The Opportunity

Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist is responsible for a variety of highly sensitive and confidential accounting duties including managing accounts payable, the payment process, processing semimonthly payroll, reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to accounts payable and payroll, as well as being able to work both independently and collaboratively while also prioritizing a diverse workload.

Responsibilities

• Obtain required documentation and set up new vendors in accounting system.
• Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors, and resolve purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
• Accountable for prepaid schedule; Reconcile account transactions within the general ledger.
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Maintain and file 1099s.
• Data entry into spreadsheets and ADP WorkforceNow.
• Filter any payroll related questions.
• Resolve and research payroll related tax issues with payroll provider.
• Reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities as needed.
• Build and run custom reports.
• Assist in month end closing.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Intacct and Bill.com preferred.
• Payroll experience required; ADP Workforce Now and multi-state/jurisdictional experience preferred.
• Must have a strong work ethic.
• Strong organizational ability and a self-starter.
• Excellent attention to detail a must, professional attitude, reliable.
• Effective corporate communications skills.
• Ability to consistently meet all deadlines.
