About our group:


The Corporate Accounting team leads key accounting processes of the organization including complex accounting transactions, month-end close, review and clarification of finance policies and global consolidations. Our group works with various Seagate teams both within and outside of Finance on exciting accounting related topics and special projects and to streamline the monthly close.


The Accountant II position provides great opportunity for growth. This role supports key accounting processes including complex accounting transactions and preparation of the Company's financial statements.

About the role - you will:


  • Perform month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and flux analyses and related reporting and disclosures.
  • Prepare the Company's financial statements and management reporting.
  • Maintain the accounting for restructuring, deferred compensation, and accrued labor benefits, etc.
  • Ensure applicable internal controls are performed and documented appropriately while meeting SOX deadline.
  • Coordinate with external auditors quarterly / annual engagements.
  • Partner with cross-functional business partners to support special projects, including system implementation, workflow automation and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Support annual Federal and State filings.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills with attention to detail and focus on internal control.

Your experience includes:


  • Work experience in Finance or Accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience working with SAP S4/HANA


You might also have:


  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Power Point
  • Experience with Oracle and Tableau

The estimated base salary range for this position in the San Francisco Bay area is; $65,700.00 to $94,000.00. Actual salary range is based on the regional labor market of the role in the geography in which the position is located based on requirements of the job and your skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonable estimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
