The Aon Burlington, Vermont office is seeking an experienced Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of a portfolio insurance companies. The Accountant will work closely with a broader team of professionals ensuring all the compliance, finance and accounting requirements are met. The following requirements are identified as crucial for success in the role and it is expected that the candidate for the position will possess these qualifications. This opportunity has the flexibility to be hybrid (in office & remote) or remote. Local to the Burlington area preferred but willing to consider remote working arrangement.

  • Serving as the primary contact for individuals from various departments, such as risk management, corporate controllership, tax, legal, etc.

What your day-to-day will be

  • Preparing the financial statements for a portfolio of diverse accounts
  • Preparing regulatory filings and premium tax returns
  • Preparing supporting materials for annual Board meetings
  • Reconciling loss and investment report data
  • Oversee cash management for assigned portfolio
  • Support and collate key financial information for captive audits/examinations
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and regulatory filings

What we're looking for

  • Experience in preparing financial statements with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or related experiences.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently
  • Experience managing several projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor of Accounting/Finance/Business Administration degree or captive experience
  • Preferred to have accounting/business experience
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Thrive in a team environment and able to work well independently

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $46,00- $76,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
