Easterseals New Jersey is looking for an Academic Transition Support Coordinator fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) to support our youth program across several counties in New Jersey!
$1000.00 sign-on Bonus
(after 90 days of employment)
Are you passionate about supporting the deaf & hard of hearing youth community in deciding their career path?

Key responsibilities include (But are not limited to):
  • Regular work Schedule Monday-Friday 9 am - 4 pm
  • Hybrid position requiring both remote and on-site services in school districts throughout New Jersey.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer functions, Microsoft word, outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Provide Pre Employment Transition Skills Training to Deaf and Hard of Hearing High School Students.
  • Create a collaborative relationship with High School counselors and teachers to provide supplemental support in the area of Job Exploration, college preparation, work-based learning experiences readiness training, and self-advocacy to Students.
  • Communicate with clients, supervisors, and stakeholders utilizing American Sign Language as the primary mode of communication.
  • Adapt program materials to meet consumer communication needs and support learning styles.
  • Provide both on-site and virtual support through one on one meetings and classroom instruction via zoom and google classroom.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Associate degree required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Able to support students through sign or oral communication or both.
  • Must pass state proficiency exam given by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) after hire.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license & acceptable driving record.
